In this post I'm not trying to judge any one, Just trying to compare diffrent ideas:
Mike finished his undergrad degreee today, he is leaving to Itally on sunday, He is planning to stay there for a year, and work in a farm. He is doing this only for fun and just to try a diffrent life style.
Dara went to Ireland for summer time, When he was going to Ireland he didn't have a job or special place to stay, he just trust his music. He played Banjo, earned food to eat and place to sleep.
I think thats very interesting to be strong enough to choose a difficult or diffrent life style, to live a day by day life. I might even try some thing like that too, go to Africa.....
My cousine 's soccer teacher is a 60 years old successful engineer who was laid off from his job long time ago, He was lucky enough to know some thing more than what it was require to get an engineering degree: Rules of playing a soccer game, now he is teaching it to kids, they all love him.
Most of us ( specially those who live in North America or Europe) have paid our bills by minimum payment jobs. The question is do we want to continue this even after graduations? So why going to school?
There might be times that we can not SEE our other choices, but is it always the case?
I believe if the point of the job we are taking is having a new experiance and learning new things, and enjoying it, as long as it does not bother others it should not be any obstacle that we can not cut it away.
But the point is weather we Are enjoying that life style, or if its just a escape from reality? Is it understamating our power? and where is understimating coming from? lack of self confidance?
How one can earn self confidance?
My firend Avid used to say: We OUGHT NOT to start from zero all the time.
ITs just matter of some hard work, knowing our capability, and confidanceget up stand up stand
up for ur right don't give up the fight
I know you don’t knowWhat life is really worth.

I think this is compeletly personal, it depends on each persons goals. As you said, you can do what ever you want, and you don't have to go to school, you don't have to start from zero. But going to school is not just about learning somethings that you are going to forget later, going to school can help you find yourself, and find your goals. It is impossible to generalize people on this issue, it all depends on ones goals. And one can not earn self confidence, self confidence is already there, one just has to use it.

I think self confidence builds up over time if the foundation has been laid out correctly by parents. There are many talented people who lack it because their confidents have not been boosted by their parents or other individuals in their environment. As far as life style goes, I agree with Ameer that it is a personal thing. So does education. So many people miss the fact that the main purpose of education is not just to earn a degree to get a job with or earn more money; I think education is about how to live:) Interesting post!

I'd say paying the bills should at least become easy after uni.. but for me, Study should help me to work part time and earn a fulltime life.. if I don't that means I either haven't studies well enough or I have walked into the wrong path.
